The Back Porch Spotlight – Official Contest Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility:
- Open to individuals 18 years and older.
- Must be present in-person at The Back Porch in Royse City, TX for both qualifying rounds and bracket events.
- Employees of The Back Porch may not enter.
2. Qualifying Period (April 10 – June 5, 2025):
- Karaoke performances will be held weekly.
- Contestants may perform multiple times during the qualifying period.
- The Back Porch staff will select standout performers to advance into the official competition bracket.
- Selections are based on vocal ability, crowd engagement, and overall performance.
3. Bracket Round (June 12 – June 26, 2025):
- Selected contestants will compete in a 3-week, elimination-style bracket format.
- Performances will be judged by a panel selected by The Back Porch.
- Criteria: vocal performance, stage presence, and entertainment value.
4. Finals (July 4, 2025):
- The top 3 finalists will perform on Independence Day.
- The winner will be chosen by audience vote during the event.
5. Prizes:
- 1st Place: $5,000
- 2nd Place: $3,000
- 3rd Place: $2,000
- Additional non-cash prizes may be awarded from event sponsors and vendors.
6. General Rules:
- Song choices must be family-friendly and appropriate for all audiences.
- The Back Porch reserves the right to remove contestants for inappropriate behavior or conduct.
- Prize winnings are subject to applicable federal and state taxes.
- By participating, contestants agree to allow The Back Porch to use their name, image, and performance in promotional materials.
By submitting your information to participate in the Back Porch Spotlight competition, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Use of Name, Likeness, and Content
You grant Back Porch Spotlight, its organizers, and affiliated marketing partners the right to use your name, image, likeness, voice, photographs, and submitted materials (including bios and performance content) in all promotional, advertising, social media, video, and marketing content related to the competition.
- Media Distribution Rights
You authorize us to distribute and share any materials associated with your participation — including photos, videos, and event footage — across all media platforms, including but not limited to: websites, social media, printed materials, livestreams, and future promotional campaigns.
- No Compensation for Use
You understand that participation in the competition is voluntary and that no monetary compensation will be provided for the use of submitted or recorded materials.
- Public Voting Acknowledgment
You acknowledge that your submitted profile, image, and name will be visible to the public as part of the voting process.
By submitting your performer profile or participating in this event, you agree to the terms above.
